Permissions

Two of my photos this week are waiting on permissions from their subjects to post them on the internet.

What do you guys do when your photo of the day includes others? Specifically, what do you do when it includes other people's children? Am I being silly about privacy, especially if I'm not posting any other identifying details?

  1. I suppose I could always post them on Flickr or in my Facebook so that they are not available to all the internet, but only a select few friends/contacts...

  2. I get permission if the photograph shows their faces well enough to identify them. I don't if the kid is way in the background or the face is not visible. And if I am photographing for the blog, I usually try for the latter.
When I first started blogging I got warned about this kind of thing by a mother who had had her daughter's face cut and pasted into a porn shot. There are ugly people out there.

  3. I'm just going ahead and posting them to my Flickr account. The username is Snapped Ps, add me as a contact if you want to see them.
